What is VILIPO?

VILIPO is an exciting international competition for students aged 12-19 from all around the world.

What's VILIPO's aim?

VILIPO is not only a world-wide platform to launch our innovators’ inventions; it also aims to assure that they can cherish their memories of this life-changing experience.

How does VILIPO work?

VILIPO is hosted at FTMC, which is the largest scientific research institution carrying out fundamental research and technological development works in scientific fields in Vilnius, Lithuania.

VILIPO Olympiad is hosted at CENTER FOR PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY (FTMC).

It is the largest scientific research institution carrying out unique fundamental research and technological development works in scientific fields of laser technologies, optoelectronics, nuclear physics, organic chemistry, bio and nanotechnologies, electrochemical material science, functional materials, electronics, etc. in Lithuania.
 
In the Center, not only the innovative science but also high technologies expedient for business and society needs are developed.
 
FTMC was established in 2010 by joining institutes of Chemistry, Physics, Semiconductor Physics in Vilnius and Textile institute in Kaunas. Over recent years, the Center combining different science branches has become one of the leading scientific institutions in Lithuania.

As part of VILIPO, you will have the opportunity to go on a city tour of Vilnius. The city tour features the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site highlighting its main attractions.

The day after Vilnius Trip, you will have a tour to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, with its beautiful insular castle of the 14th century, situated on an island in the middle of a lake. The unique location on the peninsula surrounded by five lakes has dubbed itself the “Town on the Water”.

VILIPO participants will have an excellent opportunity to get to know each other by participating in complimentary events.

Vilnius, as the capital of Lithuania, is the home of the President, the Seimas, the Government, and the Supreme Court. Diplomatic missions, educational, cultural, financial, research, and healthcare institutions are based here.
