• VILIPO is open to all international and Lithuanian students
    aged 14 – 19.
  • All students under 18 must attend the VILIPO with an adult supervisor (a teacher, parent, or guardian). Students who are 18 and study in high school may participate without adult supervision. Our minimum age requirement for student participants is 13.
  • Supervisors can be anyone older than 20. During the competition the supervisors cannot assist the student in any way.
  • The same project CANNOT be submitted in consecutive years without significant improvements.
  • Projects which are submitted to other organizations/fairs can be submitted without changes.
  • A valid application must be submitted (including other VILIPO fair affiliated winners’ certificates) using the VILIPO application system.
  • The application and fee payment must be submitted by the deadline.
  • The official language of VILIPO is English. Supervisors have to communicate in English well enough with VILIPO officials concerning all issues.


The application fee is €20 per project and is non-refundable. The application fee must be paid before the application deadline in order to complete your application. All applicants, including VILIPO Certificate winners, must pay the application fee. Projects without an application fee will not be considered for evaluation.

The participation fee is €250 per attendee (including student and supervisor). Only €180 is refundable until April 15th. The remaining  €70 is non-refundable under any circumstances. The full participation fee (€250) must be paid before the registration deadline in order to guarantee your place at VILIPO. 

The participation fee covers accommodation, meals, trip and International Vilnius Airport pick-up and drop on certain days and times. (see finalist guide for details)

There is a limit on the number of adult supervisors (teacher or parent). In order to maximize the number of projects and student participation, we allow only one supervisor (teacher/parent) for every 6 students from the same school/organization. If there are 7-12 finalist students from the same school/organization, then two supervisors are allowed and so on. 


Students may apply with multiple projects in any discipline to increase their chance of acceptance. In the case of being a finalist for multiple projects, the applicant must choose which project to present. 

Each student may present only one project. 

A maximum of two students may present an energy, environment, engineering or short film project.

Only one student may present a short story, essay, poster art and photography.

There is no limit to how many projects may be submitted from the same school/organization. There is no limit to the number of projects selected as finalists from any one school.

General Rules

  • VILIPO Committee has the right to disqualify any project without explanation.
  • Supervisors cannot act as judges.
  • Finalists/Applicants who do not submit the required information on time and in the requested format will be disqualified.
  • Integrity must be maintained at all times.
  • Any act of misconduct such as fraud, falsification of data or records, piracy or plagiarism etc… is prohibited. VILIPO has the right to disqualify any participants suspected of the above mentioned misconduct.
  • All students are required to adhere to the rules set by VILIPO which are subject to change.
  • By attending the VILIPO Olympiad, you and/or your guardian agree to all statements and rules stated on this page, in the finalist guide, and in the media and consent form.

Dress Code

VILIPO is not just about promoting professional excellence, it also serves to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation. In this regard, we encourage participants to bring along their traditional costumes to wear during the competition. Overly revealing outfits are not allowed.

Alternatively, participants may wear their VILIPO T-shirts that will be given at check-in upon arrival.

    The Project Application Deadline is March 15, 2020 for all individual/school applications.

    Project Finalists will be announced on our website on March 22, 2020.
